ENFIELD, CT (WFSB) -

Four students were injured, including one seriously, in a school bus crash that shut down Moody Road in Enfield Wednesday afternoon.

A Dattco Bus was traveling eastbound on Moody Road near the Somers town line at about 4:15 p.m. Around that time, the bus crashed into a tree in a nearby area.

Three children, who are students at CREC Museum Academy in Bloomfield and do not attend Enfield Public Schools, had cuts and bruises while a fourth student was unconscious when officers arrived. All of the children, who are elementary school age, were taken to Bay State Hospital, police said.

The driver of the crash was not seriously injured, police said.

The Life Star medical helicopter was called to the scene, but was canceled.

The children's names were not released by police; however, police said the parents of the students were notified.

Moody Road was closed until around 7:30 p.m. while police investigated and debris was cleared from the street.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
