Oil truck rollover causes gallons of oil to spill onto road

STRATFORD, CT (WFSB) -

Police in Stratford said an oil delivery truck rolled over on Broadbridge Ave. at the intersection of Second Hill Avenue.

This was a single vehicle accident and upon impact with the road, a stress crack appeared on one of the weld on the truck.

About 100 gallons of oil spilled out of the truck and went down the drain. Fairfield Hazardous Waste Team was called in. Around 2,000 gallons of oil needed to be drained from he truck before they attempted to upright it.

Police said there were no injuries as a result of the accident. The road has since reopened.
