State police told CBS 3 that they were called to the scene of a pedestrian versus train incident at 5:15 p.m. on Saturday.
When police arrived, they discovered a person who had died from being struck by a train.
They requested help from a crime scene unit and state police detectives who are assigned to the Hampden County district attorney's office.
State police said all further information in the case will likely come from the district attorney's office.
No roads were closed from the incident.
The Chester Fire Department also helped at the scene.
