RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) -

Richmond Police have released details on how they tracked down a third suspect in the murder of 20-year-old Samantha Myers.

Authorities confirm one of their warrants officers took a call from a supposed "friend" of a murder suspect, asking if the man had any warrants on file.

That officer, who knew about the warrants for Jamarr Hursey, told the caller there were no warrants but wrote down the caller's phone number. She gave that number to detectives, who used it to track down Hursey and key evidence.

Hursey, along with Myer's step-sister and step-niece, are all facing charges connected to Myer's murder.
