BOSTON (CBS5) -
The nation paused Tuesday to remember those lost in the Boston Marathon bombings exactly one year ago. But the area was on lockdown Tuesday night because of suspicious backpacks sitting right next to the finish line.
Police said a suspect was taken into custody Tuesday night in connection with the two unattended backpacks found.
The entire area of Boylston Street in the Back Bay was evacuated, and a portion of the subway, the green line, was shut down.
Reporters covering the ceremony were told to stay inside a nearby hotel and away from windows.
No details have been released at this time on the man taken into police custody.
