TUCSON, AZ (CBS5) -

A 14-year-old Tucson girl who failed to show up for school Tuesday has been found, a Pima County Sheriff's Department spokesman said.

Esparanza Casillas was found about 9:15 a.m. Thursday near Midvale Park Road and Argyle Avenue in Tucson, about 3 1/2 miles from her middle school, the spokesman said.

He said deputies were continuing their investigation into the circumstances of her disappearance.

Esparanza was last seen walking from her home to Pistor Middle School about 8:35 a.m. Tuesday, the sheriff's department said. A family member went to pick her up from school after track practice about 7:30 p.m., but was told she had not been at school all day.

At the time, there was no initial evidence of a potential abduction, the spokesman said.
