Police say they found a woman passed out behind the wheel of her car with her young children locked inside.
Andrea Sweeney was allegedly found in the back of her car on Cliff Drive on Sunday morning.
Police say the car reeked of alcohol and Sweeney's 9-year-old son and 7-year-old daughter were inside the car.
According to the affidavit, Sweeney admitted that she had been drinking all day and was trying to get to the gas station when the car ran out of gas. She told police she got tired and fell asleep.
The children told police they had been out there for two or three hours.
Officers say they found an empty 40-ounce bottle of beer in the car.
Sweeney was arrested and charged with DUI and two counts of child neglect.
