When store workers alert security to a man eating stolen crackers, he pays a much bigger price than the crackers are worth.
South Euclid say on Monday, April 28, at 8:38 p.m. an employee at the customer service desk of Giant Eagle, alerted an officer working store security to a man eating a box of "Cheez-It-Crackers" near the store exit, a box he hadn't pay for.
Officers say when the man was approached about the crackers, he fabricated a story about already paying for the item, and losing the receipt.
Soon after he became highly uncooperative and refused to identify himself.
The suspect, a 19-year-old South Euclid man, was placed under arrest for falsification and theft.
The $3.49 box of crackers turned into a $525 bond.
