A class of 20 firefighters representing career and volunteer fire departments across Connecticut is due to complete a 14-week training program.
The Connecticut Fire Academy says the class will wrap up the program on Thursday. A ceremony is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. Friday at the East Hartford Parks and Recreation Community Cultural Center.
The class includes firefighters representing departments in Bethany, Branford, Bristol, East Hartford, Enfield, Greenwich, Manchester, New Canaan, North Thompsonville, North Haven, Norwalk, the Southbury Training School, Southington and Stratford.
The recruits have trained daily at the Connecticut Fire Academy in Windsor Locks since Feb. 14. They've focused on developing knowledge, skills and abilities for entry-level firefighters.
The Connecticut Fire Academy is the primary source of education and training for the state's firefighters.
