ANTHEM, AZ (CBS5) -

The Maricopa County Sheriff's Office is asking the public for help in finding an armed man who robbed a Subway sandwich shop employee in Anthem on Friday morning.

The man walked to the front of the shop about 9 a.m. Friday and hit the employee in the head with his fist and then with a small handgun before taking an undetermined amount of money, said Chris Hegstrom of the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office.

The victim's injuries were minor, Hegstrom said.

The suspect is described as a white, about 5'11" tall, 250 pounds, brown wavy hair, and wearing a gray O'Neil T-shirt, blue shorts with white stripes, dark shoes and a blue bandana over his face.

He was last seen leaving in a gray or light blue Honda Element.

There was a second person in the vehicle, but no description was available, Hegstrom said.

Anyone with information about the suspect or the robbery is asked to call the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office at 602-876-1011.
