FLORENCE, AZ (CBS5) -
A Pinal County deputy arrested one man but another got away after a traffic stop near Eloy in which a trunkful of marijuana was found.
The deputy stopped a Chevrolet sedan on Interstate 10 about 8:30 p.m. Monday, and after the car came to a stop, the driver and passenger bailed and ran into the desert, according to a Pinal County Sheriff's Office report.
Another deputy found the driver, identified as Fernando Villalobos-Castaneda, 25, of Glendale, in bushes about 60 yards from the car and he was arrested without a struggle, according to the report.
The passenger was not found.
Deputies said they found 21 pounds of marijuana wrapped in plastic and in a black plastic bag in the trunk. The estimated street value of the marijuana is $15,750, according to the release.
Villalobos-Castaneda was booked into the Pinal County Jail for possession of marijuana for sale, transportation of marijuana for sale and possession of marijuana.
