Authorities have released the names of the three victims involved in a head-on wreck on Ga. 84 in Liberty County Sunday.

Two of the victims were life-flighted after the wreck.

They have been identifyed as 20-year-old Appling County Transport Officer Brandon Carver, Tara Alzate, 23, of Hinesville and 21-year-old Thomas Allen Rome Moody of Glennville.

The collision happened near the Allenhurst and Waltourville city lines.

According to the Georgia State Patrol, Carver crossed into the eastbound lanes of Ga. 84 around 6 p.m., striking a PT Cruiser head-on.

Alzate, who is pregnant, was driving the PT Cruiser. She is currently listed in stable condition at Memorial University Medical Center. Moody, who was the passenger in her car, is listed in critical condition. Both were flown from the scene.

Carver was taken to Memorial by ambulance where he underwent surgery Monday morning for a broken forearm and ankle. GSP says he was on his way back to Appling County after dropping off a transfer at the Georgia Regional Medical Center.

Alzate's coworkers were devastated to learn what's happened.

"She was always rubbing her belly whenever she was taking orders," said coworker Juan Hernandez. "We were so excited for her."

The crash remains under investigation. Alzate and her family have hired a lawyer.
