NORWICH, CT (WFSB) -

A 19-year-old teen is facing several charges after he was arrested Sunday night following a serious crash.

Norwich police said they were called to the area of 502 Plain Hill Road just before 8:30 p.m. Sunday after callers reported a crash involving two vehicles.

When police arrived, they found the two vehicles with heavy front end damage.

A 16-year-old male who was in the backseat of one of the vehicles was found unconscious and rushed to Backus Hospital and later airlifted to Hartford Hospital, police said.

Two other occupants in that vehicle were also taken to Backus Hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

Police said the driver of the vehicle, 19-year-old Aaron St. Pierre of Norwich was arrested for driving while under the influence, second-degree assault with a motor while intoxicated and failure to drive right.

St. Pierre was held on a $10,000 bond and is expected to be arraigned Monday morning.
