TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) -

Some homes in Oro Valley were briefly evacuated this afternoon for a family disturbance.

Oro Valley police officers arrived on scene around 2:30 p.m. and were told a young male, who was believed to be inside the home in the 10,000 block of N. Black Canyon Court, may have fired a round from a rifle during an argument with a family member.

No one in the family was hurt and police evacuated surrounding homes as a precaution.

Police said the suspect was contacted by phone and they determined he was in the desert near a golf course in the area, where he was later taken into custody without incident.

Further investigation determined no weapon was fired during the incident. Charges are pending and the investigation is ongoing.
