After two rounds of play, a former University of Illinois golfer leads the pack at the Travelers Championship.
Round 2 of the Travelers Championship teed off on Friday after Thursday's excitement, which included a hole-in-one by Jonathan Byrd.
Golfers called it "perfect weather" at the TPC River Highlands in Cromwell.
Scott Langley leads the filed with a score of 11 under par. K.J. Choi, Michael Putnam and Harris English all finished the second round with a score of 10 under.
"I've been back every year I've been able to. So yeah, obviously some great memories," said Putnam, who made his pro debut at the Travelers in 2005.
While Brendan Steele, who finished the first round on Thursday in the lead at 8 under, was only two strokes back at 9 under after play on Friday. Eric Axley and Ryan Moore were also at 9 under
Travelers officials said there were a total of 13 eagles. The tournament also recorded its first albatross from 2008 Masters Champion Trevor Immelman. He holed a 246-yard shot on the 13th hole.
