(POOL/CNN) – House Republicans are considering suing President Barack Obama over his use of executive actions.

House Speaker John Boehner is reportedly examining legal options.

His spokesman says further action is needed because House legislation addressing the issue has "gone nowhere in the Democratic-controlled Senate."

His spokesman also said, "The president has a clear record of ignoring the American people's elected representatives and exceeding his constitutional authority, which has dangerous implications for both our system of government and our economy."

President Obama has previously vowed to continue to take executive action if he cannot get cooperation from Congress.
