Waterford police officer saves snapping turtle

WATERFORD, CT (WFSB) -

A Waterford police officer saved a snapping turtle on Thursday. 

Officer Matt Fedor responded to a call on Route 1 near Stoneheights Drive for a snapping turtle in the road. 

Officer Fedor got the turtle safely out of the road and set it free. 

The Waterford Police Department said, "officers get called to all kinds of strange things, another day at 'the office' for Officer Fedor."
