The Vernon Police Department arrested two people in separate sex assault cases in Vernon.
On July 2, Vernon police arrested Jessica Wine, 27, of Vernon. According to police, the investigation began in the spring of 2013 when police received reports of Jessica's husband, Daniel Wine, was allegedly sexually assaulting minor children during sleepovers at his house.
According to police, detectives found that Jessica Wine was also allegedly involved in some of the sexual contact with one of the children.
The alleged assaults happened while the victim was between the ages of seven and 12 years old.
Daniel Wine was already charged in the alleged assault and his case is pending in court.
Jessica Wine was charged with conspiracy to commit sex assault fourth degree, conspiracy to commit illegal sexual contact with a minor, conspiracy for sex assault first degree, sex assault fourth degree and risk of injury to a minor.
She was held over night on a $150,000 surety bond and was presented in Rockville Superior Court on July 3.
On July 3, Vernon police arrested JeanPaul Porlier, 37 of Vernon. The investigation into this arrest started in April of 2014 when police received reports of a possible sexual assault involving a 13-year-old female.
Detectives started an investigation with the help of the Department of Children and Families. Detectives found that Porlier allegedly touched the female victim inappropriately.
Porlier was charged with sex assault fourth degree and risk of injury to a minor. He was held on a $10,000 surety bond and was presented in Rockville Superior Court on July 3.
