TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) – Falling embers caused a brush fire in part of the Santa Cruz Wash near Cortaro and I-10 at last year’s fourth of July fireworks in Marana.

Northwest firefighters quickly put out the blaze. Conditions then were extremely dry. This year, it’s a different story with all the rain we got Thursday night.

A Town of Marana spokesperson says last year's fire did not change how they planned this year's event. Firefighters will still be on standby in case something happens. Police will double the amount of officers working traffic, security, and the DUI task force to keep everyone safe.

New this year, the town is spending more money on the show. We’re talking about an estimated $16,000.

If you want to see the show, it's scheduled to start around 9 pm near Cortaro and Silverbell -- weather permitting.
