NW side construction to wrap up soon, after more than a year of work

Posted: Updated:
TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) - Drivers on the northwest side will soon see a change in their commute, as a year-long construction project is set to wrap up on Orange Grove Road.

Pima County Department of Transportation will start final paving on Orange Grove Road between Camino de la Tierra and La Cholla Boulevard starting Monday, July 7. Everything should be complete by Friday.

On Monday, crews will start paving Orange Grove Road at 6 a.m. and continue through 6 that evening.

Then on Wednesday night, the cone zone will shift to Camino De La Tierra, where milling and paving will take place overnight from 6 p.m. until 6 a.m.

This project will continue on Camino De La Tierra on Friday as well, but construction workers will be outside again during the day, from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Plan for extra slowing while the paving takes place, as this could cause extra lane closures.

Always remember to approach all work zones slowly and carefully, watching for construction workers and equipment. This schedule is also subject to change based on weather conditions.
