WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP, OH (Toledo News Now) -

Washington Township Police are working to crack down on a rash of teen vandalism in the area of Angel Avenue and Homeland Drive.

Police say they believe the vandals are cutting through the Shoreland School football field. Some residents say they've lived in the area for over a decade and have never had to deal with something like this.

According to police, lawn ornaments and trash cans have been knocked over, rocks have been thrown through windows and things have been tossed into a resident's pool.

Those living in the area are nervous because they say their neighborhood has been known as one where they can leave their car doors unlocked.

The Washington Township Police Chief says he'll be increasing patrols in the area and encourages residents to be aware of suspicious activity.
