Park worker saves man's life with CPR

Posted: Updated:

We like to tell you about people who make Arizona a better place to live. Kathy Mascaro is one of those people. Wednesday, Scottsdale firefighters gave her a pat on the back for saving a man's life at Pinnacle Peak Park.

Mascaro says her CPR training just kicked in, and she's been a little embarrassed by all of the attention.

She says she's not a hero: "Anybody can save a life, which is evidence by what happened with me. I hadn't had training in almost two years, and I didn't think I was ever going to need it. So I saw someone in distress, and I just helped. Anybody can do that."

Mascaro said, even if you think you don't need CPR training, get it anyway. You never know when you'll need it.
