Arizona senators John McCain and Jeff Flake are going to introduce legislation they say will help clear up the crisis on the border.
The legislation would include amending the Trafficking Victims Prevention Act to increase the return of undocumented children and it would allow for the expedited removal of all undocumented immigrants that are stopped at the border by having them return in a matter of hours or days as opposed to months.
It would also require mandatory detention or mandatory use of ankle monitors to ensure people show up to their court dates, as well as increase the number of immigration judges to hear cases.
It would increase the number of refugee visas by 5,000 for several countries.
The lawmakers plan to hold a news conference in Phoenix on Friday.
