Auburn's Marshall cited for pot possession

Posted: Updated:
REYNOLDS, GA (WALB) - According to several reports, Auburn quarterback Nick Marshall has been cited for possession of less than an ounce of marijuana and a window tint violation.

He was not arrested.

According to WSFA, Marshall received the citation in Reynolds, GA around 1:00 Friday afternoon.

"I am aware of the situation that happened earlier today with Nick," Auburn head coach Gus Malzahn said in a statement late Friday night. "I'm very disappointed and I will address it with him accordingly."

Marshall had a breakout season on the Plains in 2013, scoring 26 touchdowns while leading the Tigers to the BCS National Title Game.

The former Wilcox County Patriot is scheduled to be an Auburn representative at next week's SEC Media Days. That remains unchanged.

Auburn University has not issued a statement regarding the citation.
