GLENDALE, AZ (CBS5) -

Glendale police said they arrested a 25-year-old man in the shooting death of his girlfriend Friday afternoon.

Police said they received a 911 call from Alex Felter about someone who had been shot at his house near 49th Avenue and Northern, and Felter was waiting outside his house when officers arrived.

Police later found the body of his girlfriend, 22-year-old Deanna Aguilar, of Phoenix, inside. She was pronounced dead at the home.

Glendale Police Department spokesman Tracey Breeden said Felter continued to cooperate with officers, was considered an "investigative lead" and was detained for questioning.

Detectives believe Felter and Aguilar were inside the home when he shot and killed Aguilar, but they were still trying to determine a motive, Breeden said.

Probable cause was established and Felter was arrested and booked into the Maricopa County Fourth Avenue Jail on a charge of second-degree murder, Breeden said.
