Three of the richest Americans call for immigration reform

Posted: Updated:
TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) - Three of the richest men in America called for immigration reform. Bill Gates, Warren Buffett and Sheldon Adelson wrote a letter asking Congress to make some sort of deal.

The three men, who are worth over $180 billion dollars combined, wrote that they don't agree on much, politically. However, they said they do agree reform is necessary: "Whatever the precise provisions of a law, it's time for the House to draft and pass a bill that reflects both our country's humanity and its self-interest. Differences with the Senate should be hammered out by members of a conference committee, committed to a deal."

Republican Speaker of the House John Boehner said last week the House will not vote on any type of immigration reform this year. Although, there will probably be votes on President Obama's request for $3.7 billion dollars to handle the crisis of undocumented children crossing our borders.
