The Hartford police department arrested a man accused in a shooting that happened in March 2013.
According to police, on March 8, 2013 at 10:48 p.m., Hartford police responded to 203 Sisson Ave. for reports a person shot.
Officers located the scene and the victim was driven to St. Francis Hospital by a private vehicle. The victim sustained a gun shot wound to the stomach and had serious, life threatening injures.
The victim has since recovered, but sustained life altering injuries, according to police.
According to police, the shooting happened during an attempted robbery while the victim was leaving the Professional Barber Shop on Sisson Avenue.
The shooting was assigned to the Shooting Task Force. The STF conducted a lengthy investigation and a suspect was identified.
On June 23, a warrant was granted at Hartford Superior Court charging Deshawn Jennings, 36, with the shooting assault and attempted robbery, according to police.
On July 11, Jennings was taken into custody without incident. He is being held on a $750,000 bond.
Jennings was charged with first degree assault, first degree criminal attempt robbery, carrying a pistol without a permit and criminal possession of a firearm.
The investigation is still ongoing and other arrests are expected to be made, according to police.
