Hello everyone! How are you on this fine Monday morning?
Today is going to be another winner in the weather department! You can expect lots of sunshine with fairly comfortable levels of humidity. It will also be comfortably warm, with highs in the mid-80s in greater Hartford and lower-80s most everywhere else, except the beaches, where the water will help to keep the readings in the upper-70s.
The muggies will start to creep into the state tonight, thanks to a weak warm front passing through the state. There will likely be a period of mainly cloudy skies, thanks to this front. Tomorrow morning, don't look for those temperatures to be quite as cool as they are this morning; we're expecting lows in the middle-60s. Therefore, sleeping tonight may be a little bit tougher without a fan or the AC nearby.
Higher heat and humidity will definitely be in place tomorrow and Wednesday. Both of these days with be partly sunny, hazy and humid with the afternoons heating up close to 90°F. Given the level of heating and the level of humidity, a few afternoon pop-up thunderstorms are possible. Although there will not be any weather system in the area that would help bring the necessary "forcing" for organized thunderstorms, this heating may be enough and any storms that do fire up could also turn strong, with downpours and gusty wind, especially Wednesday afternoon.
The very best opportunity for thunderstorms will arrive later Thursday when a cold front approaches from the west. It will be another hazy, hot and humid day with highs in the upper-80s. The front will come close enough to initiate thunderstorms by later afternoon. With the front's lift and its ample heat and moisture supply, the chance for strong storms is again very real and may come in a more organized fashion, with greater coverage across the state.
Showers may linger Friday morning, but by Friday afternoon, we think lower humidity, sunshine and comfortable temperatures will prevail. Right now, Saturday looks to be completely dry and comfortable. Sunday is iffy, depending on the timing and strength of a warm front that will be coming close. We'll likely have an increase in cloud coverage with this front approaching.
Have a great week!
