DANBURY, CT (WFSB) -

The Danbury Fire Department reported a plane crash Thursday evening.

Reports said a small plane went down into a swamp near Route 7 and multiple units responded to the area of Miry Brook Road.

A single engine 1984 Beechcraft Bonanza crashed in a large swamp, a press release said, about one quarter of a mile of Runway 35 at the Danbury Municipal Airport.

The pilot was the sole occupant of the aircraft and was not harmed in the crash. Firefighters also placed booms around the aircraft to contain any possibility of fuel leakage.

The Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection was also on the scene.

The crash is currently under investigation.
