State and local police along with members of the DEA, ATF and FBI took a slew of alleged drug dealers off the streets Thursday during "Operation Tidal Wave."
Chief James M. Neiswanger said the operation targeted street-level dealers who made hand-to-hand sales to undercover narcotics police officers.
The undercover operation represented one component of the Massachusetts State Police's heroin initiative, Neiswanger said.
"This round up would not have been possible without the help of all our partners, especially the Massachusetts State Police," Neiswanger said.
Police charged the following people:
The state police gang unit, Holyoke police narcotics unit, members of the violent fugitive apprehension section, FBI Western Mass. Gang Task Force, DEA and ATF all took part in the massive sweep, Neiswanger said.
