The Hartford Police Department is investigating a stabbing that happened Saturday afternoon.
The stabbing happened just after 3 p.m. in the area of York and Zion Streets.
According to police, a 20-year-old male victim was stabbed multiple times in the chest and back area. He was taken to Hartford Hospital and is in stable, according to police.
"It's odd during the day. It's normally at night when everything is quiet," said Robbie Gonzalez.
After being stabbed, the victim walked up Zion St. before being taken to the hospital.
Police also said there are multiple suspects who fled, but no arrests have been made. Residents who live nearby describe the area as crime ridden.
"It's not the first time. The day before Father's Day a man got stabbed in front of my house, so it's sad but normal," said Megan Ball.
There are lots of cameras in the area where the shooting happened. Police said they're rolling all day and it should be very helpful in the investigation.
"It's crazy because before you were so afraid to come outside at night and now you have to be afraid of coming out during the daytime," said Katiria Charles, of Hartford. "You don't know who they are. You could be standing next to someone and give them a dirty look and they come after you so yes, we are afraid."
If you have any information about this incident you are asked to call Hartford police.
