SOUTH WINDSOR, CT (WFSB) -

Police in South Windsor said they arrested a woman for prostitution Friday.

Shannon Allen, 31, of Hartford, had been panhandling in the area of Sullivan Avenue and John Fitch Boulevard for a number of weeks, according to police.

Investigators said they received complaints about possible illegal behavior.

They said the East Central Narcotics Task Force watched the activity, which lead to the arrest of Allen.

Allen was charged with prostitution and was later released on a $2,500 non-surety bond.

Police said she was scheduled to be arraigned Aug. 7.
