Two men who claimed to be members of the Latin Kings are accused of beating three people, robbing them and trying to steal their vehicle.
Wilfred Rodriguez, 20, and Kevin Miller, 20, were both arrested.
Police in Hartford said they were called to Weston Street just before 8:30 p.m. on Wednesday for a report of several parties fighting.
When they arrived, they said they found three victims, two women and a male. They told officers that they headed to a Mobil station for a drink when they were attacked and robbed of $300.
One victim received visible facial injuries, but they were non-life-threatening.
The victims' car was also damaged by the suspects as they tried to steal it.
The victims said that the suspects implied they had firearms, were Latin King gang members and would shoot them if they didn't listen to them.
The suspects then drove off in a black 2013 Ford Explorer. Police said they located the vehicle on Windsor Street.
The victims were able to identify the suspects, who were then arrested.
Rodriguez was charged with first-degree robbery, third-degree assault, first-degree criminal mischief, third-degree criminal mischief and second-degree larceny.
Miller was charged with first-degree robbery, third-degree assault, first-degree attempted larceny and third-degree criminal mischief.
Police said they continue to investigate the case.
