State police arrested a Holyoke man on drug possession charges following a motor vehicle stop.
A state trooper was patrolling Interstate 391 northbound in Holyoke shortly after 9:30 a.m. Friday when he noticed a GMC Yukon with an expired registration.
The trooper followed the vehicle off of the interstate and stopped it on South Canal Street.
The driver of the vehicle identified himself as Julio Izquierdo and, after an investigation, the trooper discovered marijuana and Suboxone in the vehicle.
Izquierdo, 35, was charged in Holyoke District Court with possession of a Class D substance, possession of a Class B substance, and operating an unregistered motor vehicle.
