Pair arrested for trying to steal cars in Bristol

BRISTOL, CT (WFSB) -

A man and woman were arrested for trying to steal cars in Bristol, according to police.

Jared J. Garand, 25, of Unionville, and 22-year-old Nicole Raboin, of Bristol, face a list of charges.

Police said just after 12:30 a.m. on Thursday, they responded to an apartment complex on Burlington Avenue. They received a complaint that two people were acting suspiciously in a parking lot.

The caller provided a description of the suspects and the vehicle in which they had fled.

Police said they found the vehicle at the Snow-White Car Wash on Farmington Avenue. 

An investigation revealed that Garand, who was in the vehicle, had illegally entered the parked car at the apartment complex. Raboin, meanwhile, was pulling on door handles to try and enter other vehicles.

Garand was charged with third-degree burglary, criminal attempt at sixth-degree larceny and conspiracy to commit sixth-degree larceny. He was held on a $10,000 bond.

Raboin was charged with criminal attempt at third-degree burglary, criminal attempt at sixth-degree larceny and conspiracy to commit sixth-degree larceny. Her bond was set at $5,000.
