Mom outraged by 'Satanic' school bus lights

(CNN) -

One parent was outraged after she said she saw a pentagram on a school bus.

She said she has the photograph to prove it.

A Tennessee mom said she was so shocked that she snapped a photo of the brake light on a school bus at a bus stop in Tennessee.

"Anyone who fears a God, if not God and Jesus Christ, should be outraged,” said the concerned mom, whose identity is being withheld following death threats.

She said it is appalling that the brake lights are shaped like a pentagram, which is an upside down, five-pointed star.

Merriam-Webster Dictionary said the pentagram is often used as a magic or religious symbol.

"If you can't put a cross on there, you cannot put a pentagram on it,” the mother said.

She said that last month Walgreens had pulled wrapping paper from its shelves because the images appeared to be swastikas.

"People should be upset if that is against their feelings, religions, etc.,” said Connie Shepard.

Others said they only saw brake lights, nothing else.

Jo Applewhite has been practicing Wicca for 16 years and said the pentagram is the religion's cross or Star of David.

"Wiccans, we believe in God, we believe in Jesus, but we don't call him God,” Applewhite said.

She won't deny the symbol is used by Satanists, but said it is also used for God.

"Find out what it really means before you start getting riled up and all worked up about something,” she said.

Either way, the parent said the light sends the wrong signal and she wants them changed.
