A local business owner was shot as he closed his shop late Wednesday night.
According to Hartford Police, officers arrived on the scene of the shooting at about 8 p.m. The owner of the Oakland package store, located at 1081 Albany Ave., was found near the rear of the building suffering from multiple gunshots.
Police said the man was closing the store when he was approached from behind by the suspect. The suspect then stole the victim's gold chain before he fired several shots. Police said the suspect then fled the scene south on Oakland Terrace.
The suspect is described as a Hispanic male. No further description was provided. Police said the victim is in critical condition.
