One year to the day students, staff and friends will gather to remember the life of Maren Sanchez, the Milford high school student who was tragically killed in the hallway of her school.
Sanchez was stabbed and killed allegedly by fellow classmate Christopher Plaskon.
Saturday's event won't mark the anniversary as a somber moment, but rather celebrate the vibrant young lady that Sanchez was.
The event will include everything from a 5K fundraiser and a kickball tournament to food and music.
Shuttle buses will be run from both the Silver Sands State Park and the Pumpkin Delight School were parking will be available.
Opening remarks will be held at 9 a.m. with the 5K Fun Run kicking off at 9:30 a.m. followed by events from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m.
All the funds raised from Saturday's event will go towards the Maren Sanchez Scholarship fund which helps graduating seniors from Jonathan Law High School which Sanchez attend.
