A 6-year-old girl was jumping on a bed Wednesday morning when police said the child fell 20 feet out of a Hartford residence.
The incident was reported at a second-floor of a building in the 1000 block of Maple Avenue around 8 a.m. The unidentified child fell out the grass below.
After the fall, the girl got up, went to a nearby unit, and rang the doorbell.
Police said the child was “alert, conscious and mobile” when they were taken to Connecticut Children's Medical Center. She is expected to recover from her injuries, police said.
The incident remains under investigation by Hartford police.
