Bristol police are investigating a pair of robberies that occurred within hours of each other, both in the area of Rockwell Park.
The first robbery attempt happened just before 9 p.m. Saturday when three male victims said they were approached by a black or Hispanic man near Rockwell Park.
The suspect threatened to assault them if they did not give up their money.
When the suspect discover the victims did not have any money he fled the area.
Police were able to locate the suspect running in the area of Muzzy Field. The suspect fought with officers, assaulting and spitting on two of them. He was taken into custody a sort time later.
He was later identified by police as 30-year-old Evon Griffith.
Griffith was charged with two-counts of assaulting an officers, robbery, breach of peace and threatening. He is being held on a $150,000 bond and will appear in Bristol Superior Court on Monday.
Just hours later officers were back in the area after a person reported that three men had stolen his dirt bike and helmet while he was walking home.
Officers said one of the suspects, a juvenile was located at the scene near Jacobs and Muzzy streets. While the other two suspects, 22-year-old Trevon Clay of New Britain and a second juvenile, were located a short distance away.
Police were also able to recover the bike and helmet.
Clay was charged with second-degree robbery and larceny and is being held on a $10,000 bond. The two juveniles were referred to Juvenile Court and released to the custody of their parents.
