Traffic stop leads officers to find 1,500 pills

TOLLAND, CT (WFSB) -

A recent traffic stop lead to the collection of 1,500 Oxycontin pills.

Police said troopers observed a white passenger van speeding on I-84 in Tolland last Friday at about 10:30 p.m.

Police stopped the van and found 14 passengers in the vehicle.

Through the course of the investigation, police located a plastic bag containing 1,500 30 mg prescription Oxycontin pills, which had a street value of about $45,000.

Police said criminal charges are pending as the investigation continues.
