Nearly two dozen accused drug dealers are off the streets after a massive drug roundup in Willimantic.
Police said 23 men and women have been arrested and are facing various drug-related charges, including sale of heroin and sale of cocaine.
Over the course of three months, police have conducted a covert roundup called Operation Thread City Round Up.
The 23 accused have been arrested and police said more arrests are expected in the near future.
Police also seized substantial amounts of cocaine, heroin, crack and K2, along with three vehicles and $5,200 in cash.
“It sends a clear and concise message to those who sell narcotics in the city that it will not be tolerated,” Willimantic Cpl. Stanley Parizo said in part at a press conference on Monday.
Police said the men and women arrested have criminal records.
