Amber Alert canceled after reported abduction in NYC

NEW YORK, NY (WFSB) -

New York State police issued an Amber Alert for a female child who was reportedly abducted on Tuesday.

Police said the abduction happened at 345 102nd St., New York, NY at about noon on Tuesday. At about 3:30 p.m. the Amber Alert was canceled.

The child is a white female, about 3 years old and is possibly related to the suspect. The child is believed to have Down syndrome.

The suspect police said they were searching for is Patrick Giblin who is about 50 years old with short brown hair and green eyes.

Police said the suspect had been seen traveling east on the Brooklyn Bridge “possibly heading for an unknown destination.”

Police said Giblin is suicidal and suffers from Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder.

The vehicle was identified as a black Dodge Durango with New York license plate number GDE4791.
