The city of Hartford is opening its doors providing plenty of options for neighbors who need a quick summer retreat.
Hartford is opening up a number of playgrounds, pools and recreation centers.
Children are treated to small field trips, games, swimming lessons and more.
There is also a number of programs that adults can enjoy, including a basketball league.
The city said the offerings will help neighbors explore Hartford.
"They do some wonderful things for the city of Hartford--this is time for us to toot our own horn,” said Troy Stewart, assistant director of recreation.
The summer programs are free but are only available to residents of Hartford.
