WATERTOWN, CT (WFSB) -

Police have identified the man who died after he  fell head-first into a well outside his home in Watertown.

Investigators said 58-year-old James McAdam was found dead in a residential well on French Street.

Mcadam's brother discovered his body around 10:30 a.m. on Thursday along with his mother, who had fallen inside their home.

Investigators said it appears he was there for one to two days, prior to the discovery. Police said the man's death is being called "untimely," at this time, but it appears to be accidental in nature.

Officials say an autopsy has been performed, but his cause of death is still under investigation.
