Connecticut State Police are investigating a homicide that happened in Andover on Friday night.

Police said they responded to Lakeside Drive at a little after 10 p.m. for the report of a person having been shot.

Police found a male victim, identified as 38-year-old Jason Marchand of Andover suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.

Marchand was transported to Windham Hospital and was pronounced dead.

No other victims were located.

Police said Marchand was involved in a verbal argument earlier in the evening at about 9:15 p.m. with a male suspect on lake association property at Andover Lake on Lakeside Drive.

Witnesses told police that the same male suspect later returned to Lakeside Drive on his motorcycle and as Marchand confronted the suspect, police said that is when he was shot multiple times.

The suspect fled the scene.

A man who called himself John told Eyewitness News said he was hanging out with the victim before he was shot and killed.

John said he and his friend encountered the suspect with his motorcycle as they sat by the path leading to Andover lake.

His friend feared the suspect would spray them with rocks as he left on the motorcycle so he warned the man not to. But that is exactly what the motorcyclist did and there were still skid marks visible in the dirt.

"He was mad," John said.

After about an hour, John said they had left the lake and headed over to the victim's house when the motorcyclist returned which is when Marchand was shot.

"I can't comprehend what occurred. It just blew my mind," John said.

Police said the suspect is in his 20s and was wearing a helmet with a face shield and was operating a blue and white colored sport-type motorcycle.

He is believed to be a resident of Andover.

Anyone who may have information regarding this incident, or the male suspect is asked to contact Eastern District Major Crime at (860) 896 3230 or Troop K at (860) 465-5411.
