WESTPORT, CT (WFSB) -

A boat was taking on water off the Connecticut coast on Sunday morning, however, the boaters are safe because of quick work by the U.S. Coast Guard.

Authorities received a distress call about a vessel taking on water near the Cockenoe Island around 11:30 a.m.

The Coat Guard was working on an unmanned dingy in the area when they received the call. Coast Guard crews rushed over and with help from SeaTow and the Norwalk, Darien and Westport police departments, they were able to start dewatering the vessel.

No injuries were reported to authorities.
