A shoreline staple is closing its doors after more than 15 years of serving customers.
The Stone House Restaurant in Guilford announced that it will soon be shutting down for good.
The restaurant's manager told Eyewitness News that the family-owned and operated business received an unsolicited offer that was too good to pass up.
Still, Dolores Quinlivan said it wasn't about the money.
She said the restaurant suffered significant damage during Tropical Storm Irene and Superstorm Sandy. The fear was that another storm would strike again.
While long-time customers said they were disappointed, Quinlivan said it's bitter sweet for her team as well.
"We tried to serve the community and it's really been a pleasure and its with a heavy heart we have to say goodbye," she said.
The Stone House is officially slated to close on July 31.
