MIDDLEFIELD, CT (WFSB) -

Environmental officials have released the name of a boater whose body was pulled from a Middlefield lake Tuesday night.

Gregory Davoren, 52, died after that the Department of Energy and Environmental Protection described as a boating accident on Lake Beseck.

Davoren, of Middletown, was on the boat with 47-year-old Santo Bazzano of Hartford and 53-year-old Thomas Parente of Middletown.

DEEP did not released details about the accident itself. The boat was described as a 20 foot Bayliner motorboat and was the only vessel involved in the incident.

It said it responded to the lake around 5:30 p.m. with state police, the Middlefield Fire Department and Middletown's South District Fire Department.

One boater, identified as Daveron, left the vessel for an unknown reason and had to be pulled from the water by a dive team. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

DEEP said the incident remains under investigation.
