A traveling art project is allowing people in Connecticut make their mark in history.
The program called “Flag for Hope” was in West Haven and Plainville on Wednesday, collecting handprints for use on a massive American Flag.
The flag will hang in the Freedom Tower in New York City.
"Our intent is to have roughly 5,000 Americans put their impression on the canvas in the shape of the American Flag,” said Chris Cavedon, executive director of Flag for Hope.
The goal is to send a message of unity to the world.
Flag for Hope is traveling to 60 cities across the country.
